1 – CALA BALADRAR

Cala Baladrar is one of the most spectacular beaches in Benissa.

This pebbly cove offers fantastic views on Calpe and the Peñon while being easily accessible. The beach is sheltered from the strong eastern winds so the water is usually quite calm.

It’s the ideal spot for snorkelling with abundant sea life and shallow waters.

There is also a summer beach bar, open all day, and parking (although limited).

Our tip: The eastern side of the beach is more accessible for children whereas the western side is more recommended for adults and snorkelers.

2. CALA ADVOCAT

Cala Advocat is a great option if you’re looking for a family-friendly beach in Benissa with great snorkelling opportunities.

Cala Advocat is a combination of a small sandy beach and a narrow jetty, ideal for a little seaside stroll. This also protects the beach from strong waves, which makes it ideal for children.

During the summer months, there is also a beach bar, open all day.

Parking is available although quite limited

Our tip: Go early. Parking is limited and the beach gets busy after lunchtime.

3. PLAYA LA LLOBELLA

Benissa’s most unspoiled beach and a snorkeler’s paradise.

We do not recommend visiting this beach with children, access can be tricky and you will have to walk on slippery rocks.

However, the difficult access makes for a low influx of tourists!

Our tip: Wear good shoes ( no flip-flops etc ). Rocks can be surprisingly sharp or slippery in this area.

4. CALA PINETS

Cala Pinets is a tiny (25m)  but stunningly beautiful beach. It is a mixture of sand and small pebbles and is family-friendly.

There are many natural “rock pools”, where children can play safely in warm water.

This is also the starting point of the Paseo Ecologico, a seaside promenade that will take you through beaches in Benissa to Calpe, with stops at Fustera Beach, Bassetes etc. To learn more about this route, check our article on hiking the area.

5. PLAYA LA FUSTERA

Benissa’s most famous and popular sandy beach.

Playa la Fustera is a “Blue Flag ” and “Ecoplayas” award winner.

This is the most family-friendly beach in Benissa. It is easily accessible by road or bus, parking is available as well as showers and public bathrooms.

There are two restaurants on the beach, our favourite is the MANDALA BEACH BAR

Lifeguards are on duty between the 15th of June to the 15th of September.

Our tip: We highly recommend you take a walk on the seaside promenade. There are many unspoiled natural pools and the scenery is breathtaking.

6. PLAYA BASSETES

Els Bassetes is a tiny Marina (around 15 boats) with panoramic views on Calpe and the Peñon. This is a rocky beach with deep waters, perfect for swimmers and snorkelers.

Facilities include kayak and SUP rentals, public bathrooms, restaurants ad parking.

Our tip: Park your car in LA FUSTERA beach and walk to El Bassetes via the promenade.
