THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR DAY TRIP TO ALTEA
1-Parking in the old town is next to impossible. There are public and private car parks in the new part of Altea. We recommend you park there and walk up the hill to the Old Town.
2- Another easy way to discover Altea is to hop on the Alicante Tram line which links Denia and Alicante. The journey from Teulada station takes about 30 min and costs less than 5 euros.
3 – Wear comfortable footwear ! Altea is very hilly and the old town’s cobblestreets can be challenging. Leave your heels and flip flops at home.
4 – If you plan to dine at a specific restaurant, especially during peak tourist seasons, consider making a reservation to secure your spot.
5 – Plan for Siesta: Keep in mind that many local businesses, particularly smaller shops and restaurants, may close for siesta, usually from around 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
