Moraira with childrenFamily-friendly restaurants, beaches and activities
Why is Moraira a fantastic family destination ?
With a selection of family-friendly beaches and activities, Moraira is truly a haven for families in search of a safe and fun holiday. The town itself is fairly small but you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodation options and restaurants. There are a number of nice playgrounds in town and many activities to entertain the little ones. Unlike Benidorm or Calpe, Moraira is also not a “party town” with very few clubs. The town hall had decided to focus its efforts on attracting families and retired tourists, which makes for a very laid-back atmosphere throughout the year.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY BEACHES IN MORAIRA
If you are visiting Moraira with children, you will be able to enjoy many different family-friendly beaches with shallow waters and soft sand. Here’s our selection :
Moraira’s Playa l’Ampolla is an ideal destination for families with children. This beach offers a multitude of attractions, catering to every need. With its shallow waters and soft sandy shoreline, it provides a safe and enjoyable environment for kids. Moreover, there is a playground and a shallow natural stream, which are perfect for indulging in the timeless joy of building sandcastles. The beach also offers amenities such as sunbed and parasol rentals, public showers, and toilets.
Playa El Portet
On top of being absolutely stunning, El Portet is also an ideal option for families. The water is very shallow and children can play safely, away from rocks and currents. The beach has a lifeguard and public toilets and showers (in the summer). It also has 3 beachside bars with reasonable and simple food and refreshments. If your children are a little older and want to try kayaking or paddle-boarding, there is a rental booth on the left side of the beach.
Playa La Fustera
If you’re staying on Benissa Costa or if you just fancy a change from Moraira, Cala La Fustera is a fantastic option. The beach is a bit smaller than the ones in Moraira but it’s beautiful. Younger children who need shallow water can play in the middle whereas older children can snorkel and jump from the small cliffs on the side. Playa La Fustera is also the start of a beautiful and easy walk that ends in Calpe. If you’re feeling peckish, there are 2 beachsides restaurants
Playa Playetes is a great option for families with young and older children. The little ones can safely play in the sandy shallow area while the older ones explore the local marine fauna along the cliffs. Playa Platgetes has public toilets and parking as well as a lifeguard service. It is also ideally located, close to the centre with many restaurants and bars around. Parking is limited though so if you are driving, make sure to secure a spot early!
